Originally from Newcastle and based in Aberdeen for over 12 years, I've spent most of my professional life in the emergency services, where advanced driving wasn't just a skill - it was a lifeline.
After years of advanced police driving, emergency response training, and working alongside the Institute of Advanced Motorists as a trainer, I made the decision to channel all that experience into teaching the next generation of drivers.
The catalyst? Having two children of my own. The shift patterns had to go, but my passion for driver training only grew stronger. Teaching people to drive properly - not just to pass a test - is what gets me out of bed every morning.

My Approach
I Don't Just Teach You to Pass a Test
My teaching philosophy is simple: I ensure you can actually drive. Passing the test is a byproduct of genuine competence, not the other way around.
Every learner is different, so my lessons are built around a client-centred learning approach. Whether you're a nervous beginner or someone looking to sharpen their skills, I adapt my teaching style to get the best out of you.
Expect a friendly, fun environment with lots of actual driving - not sitting at the roadside listening to lectures. My emergency services background means I stay calm under pressure, which is exactly what you need when you're learning something new.
This approach is why most of my learners pass first time with only 3 or 4 driver faults - well below the 15 allowed.
A Bit About Me
Beyond the L-Plates
When I'm not behind the wheel teaching, you'll find me indulging my petrol-head tendencies - yes, the midlife crisis motorbike was inevitable.
I try to get to the gym when time allows (and the place isn't packed), and despite living in Aberdeen for over a decade, I still support Newcastle. Don't hold it against me.
Having two children of my own is what led me to this career, and it's given me a perspective that parents appreciate. I understand the responsibility that comes with putting a new driver on the road.
At the end of the day, I want every learner who passes with me to be someone I'd be happy sharing the road with - and someone their family can trust behind the wheel.
