The national average in 2025 was 45 hours of professional tuition plus around 22 hours of private practice with friends and family. However, I aim to get my learners to a pass-ready standard in around 30 hours. Everyone learns at a different pace, so this is just a guide - some learners are ready sooner, others take a little longer. The key is quality practice, not just clocking hours.

Yes, absolutely. All instruction is delivered by Approved Driving Instructors (ADI) who are graded A by the DVSA - that's the highest possible rating. You're learning from a former advanced police driver with over 20 years of road experience.

You can book your theory test online through the official DVSA booking service. We provide free theory test support for all existing customers, either online or in-person, using specialist theory test software to help you prepare. Just ask Andy and he'll guide you through the process.

You can book your practical test through the DVSA online booking service once you've passed your theory test. Andy will advise you when you're at the right standard and help you choose the best test centre - Aberdeen has both a North (Bridge of Don) and South (Cove) centre.

Once you've booked your test and are at the right standard to pass, we'll actively monitor for cancellations to try and get you an earlier date. We want you on the road as quickly as possible.

Yes, not a problem at all. We cover all of Aberdeen city and down to Stonehaven. If you need picking up from home and dropping off at work or uni (or vice versa), just let us know before the lesson and we'll sort it out.

It's always best to use our car for the test - it's what you've been learning in, it has dual controls for safety, and you'll feel most confident in a familiar vehicle. If you've been learning in your own car, we can discuss options, but we'd generally recommend using ours.

Absolutely. Many of our learners are nervous at the start, and that's completely normal. Andy's calm, patient approach - honed through years of emergency services work - means you'll feel at ease from the very first lesson. We go at your pace, build your confidence gradually, and never push you beyond what you're comfortable with.

Yes, we have experience with adapted lessons and have achieved successful results. Every learner is different, and we tailor our approach to suit your individual needs. Please get in touch to discuss your requirements - we're happy to have a chat about how we can help.

We accept cash, bank transfer, and card payments - whatever works best for you. Payment is required 24 hours in advance of your lesson.

All lessons must be paid for 24 hours in advance, and the same 24-hour notice is required for cancellations. That said, we understand that life happens - instructor discretion can override this policy in genuine circumstances.

We can accommodate intensive and semi-intensive courses depending on availability. Contact us to discuss your timeframe and we'll put together a plan that works for you.

Ideally, we prefer to teach in our own vehicles as they're fitted with dual controls for your safety. However, if you have a specific reason for wanting to learn in your own car, feel free to contact us and we can discuss it.

We're currently looking into providing finance packages for driving lessons. In the meantime, our block booking packages offer significant savings - check out our Lessons & Prices page for details.
